Description
Three related Suprematist studies, pencil and watercolor (possibly black ink), attributed* to Nicolai Suetin (1897-1954). One sheet is signed in Cyrillic. Each sheet measures approximately 7 x 3 1/4 inches. All circa 1920-1925. Very good condition overall. Unframed for inspection and post-auction shipping.
Provenance: Ex-collection Aleksandr Mikhaev, who worked with Nicolai Suetin as a ceramics designer in Leningrad, circa 1925. This drawing was inherited by Mikhaev's grandaughter (San Francisco, CA) in the 1970s. She sold it, together with a collection of other drawings, to the former owner, now deceased, in the 1980s.
