This vintage Russian Matryoshka Nesting Doll is titled "Paintings from the Tretyakov Gallery." The Tretyakov Gallery is a museum in Moscow, Russia, and is the foremost depository of Russian fine art in the world. This nesting doll is hand painted and hand made in Sergiyev Posad, Moscow (Zagorsk region). The Matryoshka is signed by the artist on the bottom of the first nesting doll. The nesting doll is a symbol of Russian art and culture. This museum quality Matryoshka doll features 24 of the most famous paintings from the Tretyakov gallery on every doll. This Matryoshka is also lacquered, creating a shiny finish and the artist uses gold leaf on each doll. This Matryoshka doll was painted by the Russian artist Romanov in 1995.
