Description
Xante Battaglia (Italian, born 1943). Comprises: 1.) Black oil pastel with a sgraffito rectangular polygon. Signed at bottom right "X. Battaglia," in pencil. Paper sheet is glued down to a second conforming paper sheet. 2.) Ink, pencil, and gouache composition consisting of a thin horizontal band containing a small cube at left side. Signed at bottom right corner "X. Battaglia," in pencil. Paper sheet is glued down to a second conforming paper sheet. Both sheets bear short horizontal cuts at either side along edge of band. Verso bears two small sketches of the continental United States. 3.) Exhibition poster for Bonino Gallery at 98 Prince Street, NYC, 1977. Signed on image "X. Battaglia," in white ink. 4.) Three halftone "contact sheet" style posters. One signed at bottom left corner "X. Battaglia," in white ink.
