Description
8th-4th century BC. A pair of bronze bow brooches consisting of: a lozenge-section bow with trapezoidal catchplate, flared terminal with hinged square-section pin; a slender pin and integral single coil spring, broadening D-section bow with two lines of punched pellets, catch flanking the returned foot with irregular twist. 9 grams total, 45mm (1 3/4"). Property of a Surrey collector; acquired in the early 1970s. [2, No Reserve]
