Description
18th-19th century AD. A silver-gilt ring with chevron patterned shank with central rib; drum-shaped bezel with chevron pattern on the body, skulls at the shoulders wearing ruffles and eyes set with rubies(?); top of ring with beaded edge and rosette pattern with central finial; top comes off to reveal compartment for poison. 13.45 grams, 21.01mm overall, 19.23mm internal diameter (approximate ring size British S, USA 9 1/4, Europe 20.38, Japan 19) (1"). From the famous 'skulls collection' of Dr. Atanas Karamanov, personal physician of King Ferdinand I of Bulgaria.
