Description
David Cox (1809-1885) original framed Watercolor (missing glass). Welsh Coastal Scene purchased in Lampeter, Wales. David Cox the Younger followed in the footsteps of his father, David Cox the Elder. He had a good reputation as an artist but was more successful as a teacher than a painter. He exhibited in London, mainly at the Society of Painters in Watercolors, between 1827 and 1884. He is thought to have sent 579 pictures for exhibition. He also sent works to the Royal Academy, the Society of British Artists and the New Watercolor Society. In frame 16"x13"x.50". Weight 1 pds.
