Description
The late Bob Devito’s wood carved and painted impression of a street facade in NYC, complete with Taxi. Signed by the artist lower right. Measures 13x9x1. Weight 2 pds. PROVENANCE: Descendents of the Corning Glass Works. Robert Devito was a popular New York artist and muralist. He is credited with the creation of a large mural bracing the SAS Terminal at JFK Airport, a painting on the 39th floor of the Empire State Building and several other works that were in several galleries in SoHo and Madison Avenue. Devito won more than 80 awards for his work nationwide. He was a long-time exhibiting artist at the Washington Square Outdoor Art Exhibit. He died in 2016.
