Description

It is unusual to find a complete set of saddle rugs. Also ones with zoomorphic figures, Fu Dogs central and Dragons in boarder are rare and probably indicate ownership by a high ranking official. A rectangular rug is placed on top of the saddle for the comfort of the rider. A larger rug in an unusual shape is placed below the saddle for the comfort of the horse. The matching rectangular rug was also used as a general seat cushion and seldom survived. This was purchased in Katmandu in 1969 by the original owner along with the adjustable saddle. 48" x 26.5" and 24.5" x 29"
