FREE-BLOWN AND DECORATED KEROSENE STAND LAMP, opaque white pyriform font with gladiator's head transfer and gilt decoration, opaque white Hobbs monumental base, Hobbs clinch connector with patent information, No. 2 fine-line collar, opaque white wafer construction. Fitted with a period setup comprising a No. 2 J. Ives & Co. lip burner with Ives shade ring, colorless ball-form shade with cut and engraved stylized swag and punty decoration, and a colorless lip chimney. Font: Boston & Sandwich Glass Co. 1880-1896. 20 1/8" H to top of shade, 13 3/8" H to top of collar, 4 7/8" SQ foot. Shade 6 1/4" H, 4 1/4" D fitter.
Excellent condition, font with expected wear to decorations, base with manufacturing imperfections including open bubbles and annealing lines, foot with some minor roughness. Setup undamaged except for chimney fitter with expected roughness.
