A polychrome armoire / schrank / wardrobe. Bavarian / German. Late 18th or early 19th century. Painted pine body with single door and plank construction. Having applied wooden carved molding at top, bottom, and on the side panels and iron strapwork. Polychrome floral motif, stylized Mary and Child, and faux graining. Dated on top: 1787. 70 3/4"h x 47"w x 18"d.
Condition: Some chips, scuffs, and scratches in paint. Some wood loss on bottom and top molding. Later reinforcements to interior and top molding. Loose portion of molding l.f.r. corner. Please contact for detailed condition report.
