Romantic Watercolor Theorem of the Young Shepherd and Shepherdess with their flock, in painted pine frame, under glass, OS: 22- 1/4" x 24- 3/4", SS: 16- 3/4" x 19- 1/4", small crease in upper right side, foxing. Note verso indicates this relates to needlework done at Sarah Pierce's Academy in Litchfield, CT, circa 1825. See: "Girlhood Embroidery" by Betty Ring, page 220, fig. 225.
