Description
MOORE, Benson (American, 1882-1974): Sulfur Breasted Toucan, Color Etching, sight size 9.25" X 7.25", impression size 8.5" X 6.75", monogrammed lower right in the plate, signed in pencil lower left and dated, numbered 30 in lower right, original label affixed verso, frame, 19 X 14.75. With Charles Seaton, Winfield Clime and Edwin Cassedy, Moore became a founding member of an informal group who called themselves "The Ramblers Sketch Club." This group roamed the countryside, painting and critiquing each other's work and it eventually evolved into the respected Washington Landscape Club.
