FRANCE, 1870-1915
A bronze sculpture of two young women by realist sculptor Ernest Rancoulet. Titled "a Trouville", the work depicts two women in bathing suits playing leapfrog. The base of the work emulates a beach with one youngsters discarded wide brimmed hat. The work is signed "Rancoulet" on the top of the base and labeled on the side.
Provenance: Illustrated in Berman's at page 270 as No. 943. Purchased from Gallery 63 Antiques, December 3rd, 1983.
