AUSTRIA, 1861-1936
A large cold painted and patinated bronze figure of an Orientalist dancer by Franz Bergmann. The work depicts a Harem girl heavily bejeweled with ornately painted skirt dancing. Her skirt is hinged revealing her nude body when raised. The work is signed "Nam Greb" and bears a Bergmann foundry mark on the back of her skirt.
Provenance: Purchased from Bronz’ Art, New York, April 20th, 1983. Illustrated in Berman’s Volume Four, Page 942 as No. 3602.
