AUSTRIA, 1861-1936
A mechanical bronze figure of a woman dressing in a cabana by Franz Bergmann. The work depicts a woman with red shoes peeking through a curtain. The cabana is topped with a pole that when pushed rotates the curtain to expose the womans backside. A side lever returns the woman to her original position. The backside of the bronze is signed "Nam Greb" and bears the Bergmann foundry mark.
Provenance: Purchased from Bronz’ Art, New York, May 22nd, 1983. Illustrated in both positions (2 photos) in Berman’s Volume II, on page 283 as No. 1007.
