Mother and children outside a cottage. Signed L. Left. H. R. Burfoot. Information at the reverse and printed. "Mr. Burfoot married Miss Edith Trezise in 1895. Health was responsible for him leaving Pittsburgh when he moved to the mountains of Dubois, Pa. which were the subjects of many of his landscapes. His paintings were sold in Cleveland, Pittsburgh, Philadelphia; and New York. Mr. Burfoot's portraits are second to none in the country. He did Lt. Gov. C. W. Stone which hangs in the capital at Harrisburg, Pa. ; as well as President McKinley. In 1912 while in N.Y. he suffered a breakdown of health brought on by overwork which again caused him to seek the mountains...." Being sold for unpaid account of 10/29/1613 1.2"H. x 21 3/4"W.
