Gucci Silverplate Compote, fourth quarter 20th century, in the Art Deco taste, with stepped and reeded "skyscraper" standard, spherical green resin knop, and shallow saucer bowl, h. 9", dia. 11-3/4".

In good used condition. There is a compression dent around the center of the bowl so that it sits at about a 5 degree slant, with some small dents around the perimeter. Some scattered brown spotting in the bowl, and one small area, about 1" in diameter, where the silvering has been worn by an abrasive scouring (probably steel wool) in an effort to remove the largest spot, and a few similar light scouring scuffs nearby. Marked on the basal edge "GuccI".
