The Model 39 was first introduced in 1922 and the First Models were made until 1938. Features fill octagon barrel, full tube fed magazine, Marlin sporting sights, blued finish, case colored lever and frame, pistol grip walnut stock, Marlin black composite buttplate, Marlin bullseye in bottom of stock. Barrel and tube retain approximately 85-90% original blue with razor sharp edges and legends and some minor age freckling. Colors have basically patterned out to a brown patina, but there is still some bright Nitre blue on screws and back of hammer. Tang is stamped "Marlin Model 39". Wood is very good to excellent with no cracks. The wrist and forearm were hand checkered (not at factory). This is a standard takedown. Perfect action and visible rifling.
