Damascus barrels. Rifled barrel on top with shotgun barrel on bottom, solid rib between barrels mounted with ramrods on each side. Marked on top of top barrel "REAL TWIST". Back action percussion lockplates with sprigs of engraving and double set triggers. Steel flip-up peep sight mounted on barrel tang. German silver furniture includes engraved trigger guard, toe plate, buttplate and large patriotic eagle patchbox with round lid and spare nipple reservoir on left side of buttstock. Figured walnut buttstock with checkered panels on each side of wrist. Very good condition; barrels retain generous traces of Damascus finish. Both front sights have been removed and are missing. One ramrod ferrule on left side is detached but present. Barrels retain a grey patina with scattered marks from use and some hammer marks around breeches. Locks and bolsters retain a darker grey patina. German silver furniture retains a polished finish and crisp engraving. Stock is excellent with a few scattered marks and one chip behind bolster on right side. Checkering was possibly added after this gun was made.
