Standard features include full octagon barrel, knife blade sporting front sight, Winchester sporting rear sight (missing elevator), walnut forend with ebony tip, and walnut buttstock with rifle butt. While there are still traces of case colors on frame, all metal is basically a brown patina. Edges are sharp. Fine legends. Stock is excellent, proud to metal, never refinished, and with no cracks. Strong bore and perfect action. For whatever reason, it is very difficult to find a Winchester High Wall sporting rifle in the .45-70 gov't cartridge, and this example remains in untouched attic-find condition.
