Description
The forged iron trap is one of the earliest we’ve seen, dating to the 18th century. It shows years of weathering with heavy pitting and minor losses. The pad where the animal steps to set the trap off is now missing. The jaws are still present along with around 95% of the body. The iron trap measures 19 inches long x 10 1/8 inches wide. The small brass kettle has the original iron handle and iron band along the top rim of the bowl section. There is a deep patina to the brass. The kettle measures 6 5/8 inches in diameter. There are some areas of loss to the brass from age and use. The kettle comes with the original iron three-legged stand. The stand shows many years of use with some pitting to the iron.
