Description
carved wooden helmet style mask from the Makonde peoples of Tanzania, Africa. Remnants of paint remain on this aggressive looking mask. Known locally as "Lipico" masks, they are worn by young men as they are initiated into manhood ceremonies. The mask itself measures 13 x 8.5 inches. A heavy duty metal display stand will also be included.
