Description
Benji Asada (1899-1984) was a painter and printmaker from Kyoto. He was active in Kyoto's and Tokyo's sosaku hanga groups. But he made also several designs of artisan prints in shin hanga style published by Uchida in the 1950's. His original name Nakanishi Benji. Took surname Asada in 1927 in honor of two painters of that name whom he admired, one a Japanese-style painter and the other Western-style.

Fine impression, color and condition. The print is mounted to a larger sheet at the top margin only, which carries a red address stamp au verso.
