Description
France, Middle Ages, ca. 13th to 15th century CE. Large ring, perhaps once owned by a Bishop or Cardinal of the Catholic church made of silver with high octagonal table and six raised areas around the band. The table is decorated with an acid-etched fleur de lis (Flower of the lily), the sides with star, leaf and floral pattern. Weighs a hefty 20 grams and is a man's ring, size 9-1/4. Size: 1" W x 1.125" H (2.5 cm x 2.9 cm)
