Description
French, 19th century. A pair of intricately sculpted gilt bronze candlesticks, each candlestick topped by concave and pierced wax cups with scrolled foliate and fleur-de-lis decoration, each with shaft of tapered hexagonal form adorned with high relief depictions of bumble bees and rosettes, each with shaft terminating in three high relief swans with tucked wings and heads bowed, each with pierced base having three scrolled and splayed acanthus legs, each apparently unmarked. Overall 20" x 9.5" x 9.5".
