Description
American, 20th century. A Federal or Classical Revival giltwood bulls-eye mirror, having a molded, round banded frame with applied spheres, with a beaded liner around a mirrored glass center, topped with laurel foliage, and crested with an eagle with outstretched wings, with a swagged laurel and rocaille drop at the base. Apparently unmarked. Approximate height 35", width 27", depth 3".
Condition
Losses to gilt and enamel, particularly noticeable to applied spheres. Mirroring is lifting and flaking from reverse. Some losses to leaves. No other visible signs of damage or repair.
