Item Details
Description
A late Victorian 9ct gold gem-set brooch and early 20th century pendant. The first designed as split pearl swallows with a blue paste accent, the second designed as a openwork panel with red paste accent and drop, suspended from a figaro-link chain. Brooch with hallmarks for Chester, 1897. Length of brooch 4.5cms. Length of pendant 5.5cms. Length of chain 39cms. Total weight 5.4gms.
Condition
  • Overall condition fair to good. Some surface scratches/ wear, discolouration and minor dents in keeping with general age and wear.

  • Brooch with base metal replacement pin.

  • Split pearls vary in appearance with silvery grey to slightly yellowish-white hues, muted lustre and good to fair skins some show very obvious blemishes and blisters.

  • Psate show either dark blue or bright red well saturated hues.

  • Stones in fair condition with some abrasion and minor nibbles to the girdle and facet edges.

  • Pendant stamped 9ct.

  • Clasp stamped 9ct.
