PHILADELPHIA, MID 19TH CENTURYAn American Rococo carved walnut library chair attributed to Philadelphia carver Charles White. The chair possesses a horseshoe form crest rail with entwined dolphin and acanthus leaf back splat. The arms are capped with highly detailed lion mask terminals supported by foliate carved uprights. The chair stands on cabochon carved cabriole legs with hairy paw feet.
