TRANSATLANTIC FLIGHT PIPER COLT AIRPLANE PROPELLER: Perhaps Otok Ben-Hvar's most interesting stunt, in 1969 he attempted a transatlantic crossing in a Piper Colt, the first and only known such attempt in in this short wing model, during the Daily Mail Trans-Atlantic Air Race from May 4-11, 1969. Ben-Hvar crashed at landing and wound up upside down, but survived and added to his legacy of stunts. Accounts of this attempt is chronicled in his book and by print out taped to the prop.
