An antique Victorian era Scottish kilt brooch pin, formed as a Dirk. Late 19th century. Unmarked 9K gold pin set with tapered agate and bloodstone. Accentuated with faceted tourmaline and a garnet. Measures 3.5" long. Weighs 18.5 grams.
HISTORY NOTE: The kilt pin is a piece of jewelry usually worn on the lower corner of the outer apron of a kilt. Its function is to prevent the apron falling or blowing open, by adding weight to the outer apron.
