Description
A Jaguar stone mortar, Chorrera / Valdivia Indigenous culture, Pre-Columbian c.1500-500 BC. Stylized jaguar of pale green mottled stone. Openwork curling tail, blocky body with a depression at the top, the squared openwork mouth with large bared fangs. Measures 7.5" wide, 3" deep, 4.75" high.
