In this series Salvador Dali supplemented the seven deadly sins of the Christian catechism, a popular image theme since the Renaissance with an eighth sin: Le Péché Dalinien, the Dalínean sin.

Condition:

The eight etchings in colors are affixed to a mat at their reverse upper sheet edges. Otherwise the condition is good. The frames, too, are in good condition with slight signs of use.

Salvador Dalí (1904-1989)

The Spanish painter, printmaker and sculptor Salvador Dalí is one of the main representatives of Surrealism. Already during his school days he took private painting and drawing classes and studied at the Academia San Fernando in Madrid from 1922, but was expelled for disorderly conduct in 1926. In 1929, Dalí joined the Surrealists in Paris and met Gala, his muse and future wife. Today his dreamy works, influenced by the unconscious, are displayed in collections of important international museums. Salvador Dalí is known as one of the most famous artists of the 20th century.
