China, Qing Dynasty, ca. 1644 to 1912 CE. A grey-green celadon pottery double bowl with unglazed foot which was mold-made to be used for washing brushes. This form arose alongisde the emergence of calligraphy and ink painting and lasted for centuries; this is a simple, but elegant, example. Size: 4.2" W x 1.5" H (10.7 cm x 3.8 cm)
