1850s Percussion Target Rifle, by Ebenezer Dewey, Amber, NY, NVSN, approx. .40 cal., 29'' octagon barrel, plum finish, German silver decorative motifs, pewter for-end cap, double set triggers, globe type front sightwith later added elevation adjustable rear sight over original dovetail rear; half-stocked, crescent butt-plate, with running deer patch-box. Barrel & side-plate marked ''E. Dewey'', with aperture in uppertang for additional sight. Condition is very good with just beginning light pitting to barrel and lock-plate. Stock retains approx. 60% of its original varnish with most of the losses around patchbox. Double set triggerfunction as designed, bore is excellent.
