Copy after 'La Primavera': The masterpiece by Sandro Botticelli, a prominent painter of the Renaissance, painted around 1480, presents the awakening of nature in spring as allegory: Young lightly clad women are dancing in a paradisiac landscape
Condition:
The painting is in good condition consistent with the age. The varnish has been darkened and there is tiny craquelure overall. Edges and corners shows rubbed spots due to the frame and retouched spots are in the part of the background and the figures. On the reverse the canvas shows several relined spots. The frame shows usual signs of age and wear as well as tears and loss of color. The dimensions are 84.5 x 127 cm and the frame measures 103.4 x 146.5 cm. (msc)
