Description
A late 19th century French malachite-inlaid slate mantel clock by L. Marti and pair of candelabra. 8-day time and strike, spring-driven movement. Garniture includes a slate architectural clock with scrolled pediment, etched floral vine motif heightened with gilt, accented with malachite inlays, marked "Medaille de Bronze, L. Marti et Cie" on the movement, and a pair of matching gilt metal five-light candelabra. The dial with several small cracks and repair, and a scratches to the glass door; minor nicks along edges and corners, as well as a larger chip to the back corner of a candelabrum base. Not working when catalogued. Clock 19 x 6 3/4 x 22 1/2" high. ESTIMATE $1,000-2,000
