Description
Crispijn van de Passe (1589-1637) was a Dutch publisher and engraver and founder of a dynasty of engravers, the Van de Passe family. Most of their engravings were portraits, book title-pages, and the like, with relatively few grander narrative subjects. Hortus Floridus is one of their major works, featuring excellent and accurate reproductions of leaves, flowers, seed pods, roots, and all things garden related.
