Description
This is an original wonderfully hand worked piece by a master silversmith of the Montreal Hudson Bay Fur Trade Co. The pendant gorget shows a turtle effigy constructed of copper. The piece was believed to have been made circa 18th to 19th century and shows the following hallmarks: “RGâ€, walking lion pictorial hallmark, and “MONTREALâ€. The necklace is strung on sinew with excellent red 18th century glass trade beads and copper trade beads. The pendant shows an inlaid round red trade bead along the center. The pendant is 5.5â€L x 3â€W. Necklace is 25.5â€L strung.
