Description
A French silver beaker, the tapering form decorated with a circle pattern throughout and a monogrammed cartouche, all within stippled borders above a footed base. Struck mark just below rim, distorted but probably Minerva, further Minerva mark to foot rim and also a maker's mark to base for Claude Doutre Roussel (Paris, from 1895). Height measuring 3 1/2 inches (9 cm), weight 3.98 ozt (124 grams).
Condition
The beaker displays some general wear, tarnishing, surface marks and scratches consistent with age. A few deeper scratches and some slight loss of definition to the decoration. A few minor surface nicks to rims, foot rim also with minor knocks. Maker's marks and Minerva mark to base are clearly legible.
