Description
An extremely rare imperial lime-ground famille rose porcelain teapot and cover. Marked Jiaqing Yuzhi and most probably of the period . . Cm 20,00 x 17,40. Superb teapot, decorated with plants’ shoots on a green background, and with two reserves with golden frames, containing a winter and a spring landscape. The base shows a four characters symbol in blue underglaze. A comparison with the famille rose teapot, decorated with a poem and dated 1797 (in National Palace Museum Catalogue, Taipei 2006, pl. 170), shows that the present teapot has been executed in the late Qianlong (Emperor Jiaqing' father) period. Two small chips on the spout, otherwise in good conditions. Provenance: European private collection.
