Description:
Lithographed map/battle plan. 24x47.5 cm, matted & framed under plexiglass.
Rare issue of this plan that was also issued in Valentine's Manual for 1858, showing various lines of battle and positions of forces during the American Revolution. Slightly reduced from the Valentine issue, and with variant lithographer's imprint (though the same lithographer) "Lith. by G. Hayward, 171 Pearl St.,, N.Y. - For Henry McCloskey." OCLC/WorldCat has only one listing for this issue, at Princeton University, and that is an "Internet resource." There is a light pencil date, 1863, on the map, but we can find no other indication of this date.
Condition
Apparently backed, repairing a few tears and causing some creasing, very good overall, not examined out of frame.
