Considered to one of the more exciting books on elephant hunting to have been written. "The author hunted along the Guaso Nyiro in Kenya, bagging buffalo and rhinoceros. His party attempted to reach the Lorien Swamp, but, having failed, they returned to the Guaso Nyiro where hippopotamus and giraffe were collected." (Czech). This copy formerly of the Springfield Massachusetts City Library. Scarce.
Condition
Wear and soiling to cloth with rubbing to extremities, cloth peeling at head of spine, fraying at heel; rear hinge cracked, library pocket and bookplate to front endpapers, preliminary pages starting to detach, some small chips and tears to page edges, perforated library stamp to title page, numerous tears and tape repairs to folding map but no pieces missing, library stamps to page edges; good.
