AN IMPERIAL CHINESE CLOISONNE ENAMEL & GILT BELT BUCKLE MADE FOR A MALE MEMBER OF THE CHINESE IMPERIAL FAMILY

FROM THE LAST OF THE CHINESE IMPERIAL DYNASTIES,A FINE COLLECTOR'S PIECE FOR CONNOISSEURS, CIRCA 1900

The elongated, five-toed, imperial dragon, with fiery face and golden body, dances above the waves and plays happily with his flaming pearl of knowledge, while a pair of bats, also symbolic of happiness, joy and good fortune, encompass the whole. The metal is gilt and the intricate workmanship is superb as seen in the pictures and what would be expected for an Imperial item. The Chinese cloisonné enamel is interlaced with very fine gold* or gold-plated wires. This is an AUTHENTIC and very rare Chinese Imperial item.

Date: Qing dynasty, Circa 1900.D: Approximately 3.5 in wide x 2.5 in high.*Please Note: The wires in this item have not been tested for purity. They may be gold-plated bronze or some other alloy.
