Eli and Samuel Terry, Plymouth, Connecticut, c. 1820s, weight driven, wooden works, thirty-hour, pillar and scroll shelf clock. Mahogany veener case with hand painted dial featuring fruit basket and flowers, reverse painted glass lower tablet, very nice label "Patent Clocks, invented by Eli Terry, Made and Sold at Plymouth, Connecticut by Eli & Samuel Terry". Measures approx. 29" tall x 17 1/2" wide x 4 1/2" deep. Many Eli Terry Clocks which depict a home or building on the reverse painted glass tablet, are actual homes in the Town of Plymouth and surrounding Connecticut towns of the time period.
