Six mounted commemerative horse shoes (plates) worn by the winning horses of the 1880 season, Bendor , St James Palace Stakes, Ascot; Master Kildare , City & Suburban; Petronal , Two Thousand Guineas at Newmarket; Robert the Devil , Cesarwitch and the Champions Stake; Isonomy , Manchester Cup; Sanfain , Derby. 39 x 45 cm (15 3/8 x 17 3/4 in) Isonomy (1875 - 1891) was a British Thoroughbred racehorse and sire with a career that lasted from 1877 to 1880, during which time he ran fourteen times and won ten races, including twice as a five-year-old during which time he won both his races. On 19 May 1880 he carried 138 pounds in the Manchester Cup over one mile five furlongs. He was set to give large amounts of weight to many top-class horses and was not among the favourites for the race, starting at odds of 100/6 in what was described as "one of the most wonderful performances that has been recorded for many years"
