Askos Vessel. Molded and Fired Red Terracotta clay. Zoomorph form - displays a Ram. Standing posture. Handled on top. Liquid would be filled at the top opening and decant through the opening in the mouth of the ram. Hellenistic to early Roman Imperial Period. Similar askoi examples are housed in the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, as well as other prominent museums around the world. Late Hellenistic/Early Roman Imperial period. Circa I century BC - I century AD.
