Pair of Louis XV-Style Giltwood Sidechairs, second quarter 20th century, each with a padded rectangular back surmounted by a foliate crest, the padded seat raised on cabriole legs headed by foliate carving and ending in scrolled toes, upholstered with Veraseta apple green silk damask, h. 38".

Elegant pair in overall good, sturdy condition. One needs slight tightening where the legs join the seat frame (nothing serious). One front leg with old interior glue where it was tightened at some point. Nice broad seats. Upholstery good. All brass tacks in place. Crisp, deep carving with nice detail. Typical scattered dings, small losses and wear to edges (both with typical losses to the lower petal edges at seat center). Scuffs and scattered rubbing to the gilt. All of the above consistent with age and use.
