Interesting association manuscript D.S., 3pp. 4to., New York, May 21, 1800, an insurance agreement granted by Lewis Formon & Company to John Jukel for two ships and their cargo. The first, a brig named "George Washington" is at the time of the creation of this contract on a voyage between New York and Trinidad, while the second, named "Eagle", sailed from New York to Saint Sebastian on Sep. 23, 1799. The contract is signed by Formon and two witnesses at the conclusion. The brig "George Washington" was very likely built and named during the lifetime of her namesake, who died on Dec. 14, 1799.
