DESCRIPTION: A Barbedienne foundry bronze by Louis Ernest Barrias of Bernard Palissy a famous French potter who experimented with reproducing Chinese styles in ceramics. He is seen here holding his famous plat au serpent in his left hand while leaning along a brick kiln on his right topped by a book titled: "L'Art De Terre". Finished with a soft brown patina. Signed:"Barrias" along with foundry mark:"F. Barbedienne Fondeur Paris".
