An early to mid 19th century oil on canvas of classical robed figures with sheep among Roman ruins alongside a body of water, unsigned. The canvas measures 28 x 39 and the frame 33 x 44 inches.

Good condition noting a 3.5 inch tear lower left, a patch verso indicates a repair lower center, surface inpainting upper left quadrant, no other evidence of other inpainting revealed under UV light. Some gouges and chips to the extreme edges of the frame, most being intended distress to the frame by the manufacturer, some are actual minor damage.
